News Corp: quarterly net profit multiplied by 2.5

(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday evening News Corp published Q2 2020-21net profit that is up sharply (+153%) at 261 million dollars, or 39 cents per share.


Adjusted EPS reached 34 cents, well ahead of the consensus.

The media and publishing group announced that its segment EBITDA increased by 40% to 497 million dollars, including a 65% increase in the book publishing segment, for revenues that are down 3% at 2.41 billion dollars.

"The second quarter of fiscal 2021 was the most profitable quarter since the new News Corp was launched more than seven years ago, reflecting the ongoing digital transformation of the business," said CEO Robert Thomson.
