Linde: raises FY 2023 EPS forecast

(CercleFinance.com) - Linde, the world's second-largest industrial gases manufacturer, raised its EPS forecast for 2023 on Thursday in the wake of its strong Q2 performance.

The UK-based company, created from the merger between Germany's Linde and US-based Praxair, now says it is targeting EPS of $13.8 to $14 this year, with organic growth expected between 12% and 14%.

The group reported a 323% leap in Q2 net income to $1.57bn, or $3.19 per share (+331%).

Excluding extraordinary items, adjusted EPS came to $3.57, up 15% y-o-y.

Quarterly sales fell 3% to $8.2bn, but were up 6% LFL, with the 7% rise in prices more than offsetting a 1% decline in volumes.

The stock, now listed on the New York Stock Exchange, reacted little to this publication: pmt -0.2% on Thursday morning.
