Linde: EU authorises joint acquisition with Sipchem

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has authorised the acquisition of joint control of a newly created company constituting a joint venture between Linde (Germany) and Sahara International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem), from Saudi Arabia.


The joint venture will operate in the on-site supply of industrial gases in Saudi Arabia. Sipchem is the parent company of a group of companies that produce and market basic and intermediate petrochemicals.

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not pose any competition concerns, as the joint venture will have only negligible activities, current or planned, in the European Economic Area.
