Poujoulat: share price falls, half-year results down sharply

(CercleFinance.com) - Poujoulat shares fell sharply on the Paris Bourse on Thursday, following the publication of sharply lower results for the first half of 2023/2024.

The specialist in chimney flues and industrial chimneys this morning reported operating income of 8.1 million euros for the six months to the end of September, compared with a profit of 16.7 million a year earlier.

The group explains that it suffered from rising costs (raw materials, energy, payroll) and the absence of a tariff increase designed to give customers greater visibility.

Net income came to 5.6 million euros, compared with 12.6 million euros at the end of the first half of 2022/2023.

In its press release, Poujoulat also refers to a trend towards normalization of demand after two 'exceptional' financial years (+66% cumulative growth over two years).

While the company says it expects a 'transitional' 2023/2024 financial year due to the temporary slowdown in the market, it says it is 'confident' in its medium- and long-term strategic orientations.

The manufacturer of biofuels (logs, pellets, firelighters) for domestic use believes it is well positioned to meet the challenges of energy efficiency and renewable energies.

The share price lost more than 7% after this publication.
