BHP: 24% fall in H1 net profit

(CercleFinance.com) - Mining company BHP has reported a 24% fall in H1 2023 net profit (to end-December), based on its continuing operations, on revenues that contracted 16% to 25.
7 billion dollars.

Management says that it has delivered sound production, with another record half year for iron ore in Western Australia. BHP remains the world's leading low-cost iron ore producer.

Based on what it considers to be a "solid" operating performance, the Anglo-Australian mining company will propose a dividend of 90 cents per share for H1.

Management says that it is optimistic about the outlook for demand in H2 2023 and early 2024, with stronger business in China, with recent policy decisions being the main driver.
