BHP: agrees to acquire OZ Minerals
(CercleFinance.com) - BHP has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of OZ Minerals Limited (OZL) for A$28.
25 per share, in accordance with its non-binding indicative proposal of 18 November. The proposed price corresponds to an enterprise value of A$9.6 billion (just over 6 billion euros) and represents a 49.3% premium to OZL's closing price on 5 August, the last trading day before the initial proposal. The cash required by the Australian mining group to fund the acquisition will come from a combination of BHP's existing cash reserves and proceeds from a new loan facility.
