Advent: Commission clears acquisition of IRCA

(CercleFinance.com) - Under EU Merger Regulations the European Commission has cleared the acquisition of IRCA of Italy by Advent International Corporation of the US.


IRCA produces and sells semi-finished ingredients used in the production of chocolate, pastry and ice cream. One of Advent's portfolio companies is Caldic of the Netherlands, an international distributor of functional food ingredients and specialty chemicals.

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not give rise to any competition concerns, given the limited combined market position of the companies resulting from the proposed transaction.
