Adobe: abandons plans to acquire Figma

(CercleFinance.com) - Adobe has announced that it has reached a mutual agreement to terminate its agreement to acquire Figma, initially announced on 15 September 2022, a transaction that was to be financed in cash and shares, for approximately $20bn.


Both companies jointly considered that there was no clear path to receive the necessary regulatory approvals from the European Commission and the UK Competition and Markets Authority.

Adobe and Figma have therefore signed a termination agreement which resolves all outstanding issues of the transaction, including the payment by Adobe to Figma of the previously agreed termination fee.
