Inmarsat: up 6% on growth forecasts.

(CercleFinance.com) - The Inmarsat is soaring over 6% on the London Stock Exchange this morning, after the British satellite operator expressed optimism about its future growth.


Last year, group sales grew by 4.3% to 1.3 billion dollars (excluding the agreement with Ligado), accelerating at the end of the year: + 7% in Q4, in particular thanks to services to administrations and airlines.

EBITDA rose 9.5% y-o-y to 794.8 million dollars, and was rose 9.2% in Q4. The balance of the dividend will be increased by 5% to 33.37 cents per share.

Rupert Pearce, group CEO, mentioned a "robust" publication and is "confident about the group's medium- and long-term prospects". In 2017, still excluding Ligado, Inmarsat targets sales of 1.2 billion to 1.3 billion dollars, before 1.3 billion to 1.5 billion dollars 2018. Even though the satellite market, which is marked by fiercer competition, is set to remain "difficult".
