Alpha MOS: fund-raising completed for 'medtech' subsidiary

(CercleFinance.com) - Alpha MOS was up sharply on the Paris Bourse on Friday, following a capital increase by its subsidiary BOYDSense, which will enable the company to pursue the development of its non-invasive blood glucose measurement device.

The seven-million-euro fund-raising by the company's medical technology ('medtech') division includes 1.5 million euros from the conversion of convertible bonds subscribed in 2023, as well as 5.5 million euros in cash contributions.

In a press release, Alpha MOS explains that this capital will give BOYDSense the means to autonomously pursue the development of its breath-monitoring device for people with diabetes.

The funds should give the company financial autonomy until around mid-2025, enabling it to launch new clinical studies and set up quality procedures with a view to obtaining the necessary certifications for future authorization.

BOYDSense, which also wants to work on the miniaturization of its medical device, estimates that at least one further round of financing will be needed before a possible market launch in the course of 2027.

After this operation, Alpha MOS will remain the majority shareholder, with over 60% of BOYDSense's capital.

Following this announcement, Alpha MOS shares jumped by over 10% on Friday morning on the Paris Bourse, before being booked higher.
