Eurotunnel: best summer ever.

(CercleFinance.com) - Eurotunnel has had a record summer, with the group reporting after trading on Tuesday having carried over 564,000 vehicles over the period from 17 July to 3 September.


Car traffic hence rose by 2% y-o-y, which was already a record period.

In addition, The Shuttle saw bookings by its "Frequent Travellers" increase 12%, "proof that a weak pound is not, for our target clientele, a brake to visiting France," said the Channel Tunnel operator.

Finally, two other traffic records were also seen over this period: nearly 77,500 pets travelled alongside their owners, as well as almost 620 horses, representing respective increases of 8% and 25% over the period of 17 July to 3 September 2016, the previous record year.
