iliad: deal to buy UPC Poland

(CercleFinance.com) - Further to the announcement on 30 July, iliad announces the signature of an agreement for its subsidiary Play to buy 100% of Polish cable operator UPC Poland from Liberty Global for an enterprise value of seven billion zlotys, or 1.
53 billion euros.

“Together, both operators will become the 2nd largest telecom operator in the Polish market with 2020 combined revenues of E1.96 billion and 2020 combined EBITDAaL of E697 million” underlines the French telecoms group.

iliad adds that the transaction will be funded with debt and available cash by Play, and it is set to finalise for the first half of 2022 after approval from the competent authorities.
