Samse: 1% decline in annual sales

(CercleFinance.com) - Samse reports FY 2023 sales of E1.
89bn to 31 December 2023, down 1.2% (-1.6% on a comparable basis), which takes into account inflation that is still positive in 2023, even though it tended to ease significantly towards the end of the year.

Sales in the trading sector fell by 2.1% (-2.6% on a comparable basis) to E1.48bn, while sales in the DIY sector rose by 2.4%, remaining well positioned in a declining market (-1.4%), according to the Banque de France.

The outlook for 2024 is fairly pessimistic for the new housing market, but remains pretty upbeat for the DIY and renovation market, Samse says, which intends to pursue the geographic expansion of its distribution network.
