Fraport: traffic up in February despite strikes

9 million passengers used Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in February 2024. Despite several days of strikes, volume was up 12.9% on the corresponding month in 2023.

The strikes led to the cancellation of around 1,770 flights, preventing some 225,000 passengers from transiting Frankfurt as planned.

Passenger volumes for February 2024 were still some 15.0% below the corresponding figure for 2019, prior to the pandemic.

Freight volumes in Frankfurt (including airfreight and airmail) reached 153,473 metric tons in February 2024, 4.7% above the February 2023 level.
