BASF: reorganises production at Ludwigshafen site

(CercleFinance.com) - BASF has announced that it will cease production of adipic acid, cyclododecanone (CDon) and cyclopentanone (CPon) at its Ludwigshafen site in 2025, as part of a strategic review to adapt to market conditions.


CDon and CPon are used in the manufacture of plastics, perfumes and pharmaceuticals.

Around 180 employees will be affected by the closures; BASF will help them find new opportunities within the group.

BASF specifies that it will continue to produce adipic acid in South Korea and France.
