UPS: acquires MNX in healthcare logistics

(CercleFinance.com) - UPS announced on Thursday that it has reached an agreement to acquire MNX Global Logistics, a California-based specialist in transportation and logistics services for the life sciences sector.

The US courier giant says that the transaction will enable it to strengthen its tools and capabilities in the healthcare sector, as well as in other time-sensitive business areas.

In a press release, UPS points out that MNX's expertise in radiopharmaceuticals and cold logistics will help it and its clinical trials subsidiary Marken to meet growing demand in these areas.

The transaction, whose financial terms were not disclosed, is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
