Merck: IPO of Organon set to occur on 3 June

(CercleFinance.com) - The IPO of Organon, Merck's new entity that includes its activities in women's health, will take place on 3 June, the American biopharmaceutical group announced on Monday.


The announcement was officially made this morning prior to a meeting with the financial community, during which Merck will present its subsidiary's outlook.

Organon, which is present in 58 countries, has a portfolio of 60 drugs and a workforce of some 10,000 employees, the group said.

The new group is expected to generate between 1% and 5% growth this year, with its board of directors mainly made up of women.

Organon will first meet the needs of women in the areas of contraception, fertility, as well as pathologies related to women's health, with the subsidiary also having biosimilar drugs in immunology, oncology and dermatology, as well as the treatment of pain, respiratory and cardiovascular disorders.

This split comes as Merck refocuses on oncology, vaccines and hospital drugs (HIV and antibiotic therapy).
