Merck: exceeds expectations in Q4

(CercleFinance.com) - Merck posted Q4 2017 adjusted (non-GAAP) EPS that is up 10% at 98 cents, slightly above the consensus of 96 cents, with the group's revenues up 3% at 10.
4 billion dollars.

With FY 2017 adjusted EPS of 3.98 dollars, slightly above its target range of 3.91 dollars to 3.97 dollars, the New Jersey-based health group expects EPS between 4.08 dollars and 4.23 dollars in 2018.

In addition, given the tax reform that has enhanced its financial leeway, Merck plans to invest about 12 billion dollars in capital projects over five years, including 8 billion dollars in the US.
