Intel: presents its new high-performance cluster

(CercleFinance.com) - As a result of its collaboration with Dell Technologies, Nvidia and the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC), Intel today introduced Cardinal, 'a state-of-the-art high-performance computing (HPC) cluster'.

Cardinal is designed to meet Ohio's growing demand for HPC resources in research, education and industrial innovation, as well as in artificial intelligence (AI).

In detail, Cardinal is built around Dell PowerEdge servers and the Intel Xeon CPU Max Series with high-bandwidth memory (HBM), 756 Max Series CPU 9470 processors, which will provide 39,312 processor cores in total.

' The inherent heterogeneity of this system will enable engineers, researchers and scientists to take full advantage of the doubled memory bandwidth performance it offers', emphasizes Ogi Brkic, vice president and general manager of the Data Center AI Solutions product line at Intel.
