Amazon: to open new center in North West of England.

com said on Friday it planned to open a new fulfilment centre in the North West of England, creating 1,200 new permanent jobs, as the e-commerce giant seeks to meet increasing customer demands and expand product selection.

The team at the Bolton fulfilment centre, which will open in 2018, will pick, pack and ship small items such as books, toys and kitchenware.

The unit will also be equipped with advanced robotics technologies.

Amazon currently has 16 fulfilment centres in the UK.
