Ericsson: helps O2 Telefónica to upgrade its 5G network

(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson has announced that it is helping O2 Telefónica to move its 5G network in Germany to the cloud.


The telecom provider wants to deploy and upgrade the network even faster and provide new networking solutions to private and business customers.

O2 Telefónica is working closely with its partners Google Cloud and Ericsson.

The company has implemented Google Distributed Cloud Edge in its data centre, through which the 5G core network, provided by Ericsson's dual-mode 5G core, is operated.

The telecom provider relies on a cloud security concept that meets stringent requirements for data protection and security mechanisms.
