Ericsson: machine learning project for Japan's SoftBank

(CercleFinance.com) - Japanese tech and telecoms group SoftBank has implemented a method for radio access network design from Ericsson, which is based on machine intelligence, the Swedish company said on Wednesday.


The system groups cells in clusters and takes statistics from cell overlapping, improving network performance and reducing operational expenditure, Ericsson said.

The company said that compared to traditional methods, it cuts the lead time by 40%.
