Norsk Hydro: strikes a positive tone at investor day

(CercleFinance.com) - Norway's Norsk Hydro said on Thursday that it was working hard to resume full operations at its Alunorte alumina plant in Brazil, after running at 50 percent production capacity for nine months.


At its capital markets day, the Norwegian aluminium producer also gave a positive long-term outlook for aluminium.

Global demand for primary aluminium is expected to grow by 2%-3% in 2019, due to a continued deficit in the global primary market, the company said.

After this, global demand is expected to grow by 2%-3% per year over the next 10 years, it added.

However, the Hydro share, which is listed in Oslo, was down 1.6% after these comments.
