ING: names Phutrakul to succeed Koos Timmermans as CFO

(CercleFinance.com) - Dutch bank ING has appointed Tanate Phutrakul to succeed Koos Timmermans as chief financial officer, effective as of 7 February 2019.

A Thai citizen, Phutrakul - who joined ING in 1998 as managing director for ING Barings in Thailand - took up the position of ING's CFO in Belgium, a role he held until October 2018.

In order to ensure an "orderly transition," he will be appointed as CFO after the presentation of the 2018 fourth-quarter and full-year results, ING said.

Phutrakul has a master's degree in chemical engineering from Imperial College, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

ING announced in September 2018 that Koos Timmermans would step down from his position as chief financial officer and member of the executive board of ING Group in the wake of a money laundering case that made headlines in the Dutch press.
