Reckitt Benckiser: revenue slide in second quarter.

(CercleFinance.com) - Consumer goods maker Reckitt Benckiser reported lower second-quarter sales on Wednesday, hurt by the cyber-attack on 27 June and de-stocking by customers in India.

The maker of Durex condoms and Air Wick fresheners said like-for-like sales decreased by 2 per cent in the last quarter, in line with the group's announcement on 6 July.

Like-for-like numbers exclude the impact of changes in exchange rates, acquisitions, disposals and discontinued operations.

On a reported basis, the British company said net income rose 34 per cent at constant exchange to 777 million pounds in the first half of the financial year.

Reckitt also said it still expects full-year like-for-like sales growth of 2 per cent.

More importantly, the company said it has made "significant progress" on its portfolio transformation in the first half of the year, with the acquisition of Mead Johnson Nutrition and the sale of its food business.
