Kingfisher: falls after trading update.

(CercleFinance.com) - Against the bullish trend in London, Kingfisher is today down 2% following its Q3 trading update (to end-October), marked by varying performance across different geographical areas.


The DIY retail group reported quarterly sales of almost 3 billion pounds, up 11.5% as reported, but up only 1.8% like-for-like.

This organic growth was driven by the UK (+5.8%) and other international markets (+4.7%), while France - where Kingfisher operates the Castorama and Brico Dépôt stores saw a fall of 3.6%.

"We continue to make good progress on our strategic milestones in the first year of our five year ONE Kingfisher transformation," said group CEO, Véronique Laury.
