AstraZeneca: recalls sample bottles of heart drug Brilinta.

(CercleFinance.com) - AstraZeneca has recalled one lot of professional sample bottles containing tablets of the heart drug Brilinta as a precautionary measure due to report of another medicine featuring in one bottle from the lot.


The sample bottles of Brilinta 90mg - which were distributed to physicians in the US between March and April this year - could contain another medicine called Zurampic, which treats high levels of uric acid in the blood.

AstraZeneca also said on Friday that it was planning to deliver new data on expanding portfolio of cancer medicines at 2017 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting, which will be held in Chicago next week.
