GSK: applies to Japanese authorities for Shingrix

(CercleFinance.com) - GSK announced today that it has submitted a regulatory application to Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) for Shingrix, a vaccine for the prevention of shingles, for a new indication in adults at increased risk, for people aged from 18.


Shingrix was originally approved in 2018 by the Japanese MHLW to prevent shingles in adults aged 50 years or above.

This new application is based on the results of six clinical trials in patients aged 18 years and older with a high risk of developing shingles and complications.
