BP: begins production at Egypt offshore gas field

(CercleFinance.com) - British energy giant BP has started production at Egypt's Atoll gas field seven months ahead of schedule, it said on Monday.


The field delivered its first gas just 33 months after discovery, 33% below the initial cost estimate, the company said.

The project is now producing 350 million cubic feet of gas a day and 10,000 barrels of condensate a day, with the production directed to Egypt's national grid.
