Soitec: soars 8% on LT agreement with Globalfoundries.

(CercleFinance.com) - This morning the Soitec share is the sharpest riser in the SBF 120 index, up over 8%.


Yesterday evening, the group announced that it has signed a five-year contract to supply FD-SOI plates to the American semiconductor group, GlobalFoundries. The financial terms of the deal were not specified.

"This agreement represents a long-term commitment from a key strategic customer, further strengthening the FD-SOI supply chain and confirming high-volume adoption," the French group stated.

According to Christophe Maleville, executive vice president, Digital Electronics Business Unit at Soitec, “This strategic agreement, with very significant wafer volumes, reflects GF's strong confidence in Soitec as we build the required capacity to serve the growing FD-SOI demand,” he added.
