Spie: modernises Lubmin transformer station

(CercleFinance.com) - Spie announces that it has been commissioned by "50Hertz", the transmission network operator, to modernise the equipment at the Lubmin transformer station in Germany.


With a growing number of renewable energy production plants being installed in Germany, the electrical networks have to meet new requirements.

The contract therefore includes the installation of new 220 kV and 380 kV control panels inside the air-insulated substation, as well as the laying and connection of 220 kV cables inside the transformer station.

Although work on site began in January 2020, a major milestone will be reached in the coming weeks with the commissioning test of the 220 kV high-voltage cables, Spie said.
