EDF: new solar project in Brazil.

(CercleFinance.com) - EDF Energies Nouvelles has announced that its subsidiary, EDF EN do Brasil, will acquire Pirapora II, a photovoltaic project power plant that will be built, which will have an installed capacity of 115 MWc.


It has purchased 80% of the project from the Canadian group Solar Inc., which remains a 20% shareholder in the project and manufactures the photovoltaic panels at its local plant.

The Pirapora II project has a 20-year power purchase contract and is scheduled to be commissioned in the first half of 2018. Alongside Pirapora I, this will represent the annual electricity consumption of 323,000 Brazilian households.
