Engie: major biomethane contract with Arkema

(CercleFinance.com) - Arkema announces that it has signed a long-term agreement with Engie, starting 1 January 2023, for the supply of 300 GWh/year of renewable biomethane in France, one of the largest private biomethane contracts in Europe to date.

This contract, along with ongoing energy efficiency projects, will enable the chemical company to further significantly reduce the carbon footprint of its high performance biobased Rilsan polyamide 11 and Pebax Rnew elastomer ranges.

Arkema says it is also exploring opportunities to work with Engie and other industry players to support the continued improvement of renewable biomethane production in France.

What does the market think? Not a lot apparently. With trading well underway, Engie shares are down 0.5%, while Arkema shares are doing worse - down almost 1.5%.
