Eramet: sharp upturn in quarterly sales.

(CercleFinance.com) - Eramet's Q1 2017 sales have surged, in the wake of surging nickel and manganese prices.


Over the first quarter of the year, the mining and metallurgical group's sales leapt 28% to 854 million euros. On a like-for-like basis, i.e. excluding recent disposals, and particularly Eurotungstène, which has recently been finalised, sales rose by 37%.

The group's Manganese mining division (+41% at 418 million euros) and Nickel (+32% at 156 million euros) particularly benefited from the recovery in these raw materials' prices. Management pointed out that in Q1 2017 the Prices of nickel and manganese ore were well above levels at the beginning of 2016 (respectively +21% and +180%).
