Capgemini: appeals against ruling in the Netherlands.

(CercleFinance.com) - Capgemini has announced that it wants to appeal against the arbitral award rendered on 6 October 2017 by the Netherlands Arbitration Institute, the arbitration court of the Netherlands.


This sentence refers to the dispute between its local subsidiary Sociale Verzekeringsbank (or SVB), the organisation implementing social protection schemes in the Netherlands.

Following SVB's termination of a contract signed in 2009, the arbitration court set the sum to be paid by Capgemini to SVB at 22.8 million euros. Capgemini is expected to receive 1.5 million euros from SVB.

The group said that it is appealing against this decision because of the confidentiality provisions of the arbitration and that neither Capgemini nor SVB are allowed to comment on the content of the proceedings.
