Sanofi: lawsuit against Merck.

(CercleFinance.com) - Sanofi has announced that on 8 August it filed an action for infringement against Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp.
before the district court of New Jersey, in the United States, proceedings which concerned the infringement of two of its patents.

The lawsuit was motivated by a notification, received from Merck in late June, in which it said that it had applied to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for approval for medication insulin glargine in bottles.

Merck also stated that its application for approval included a "paragraph IV" certification which challenged all of Sanofi's patents listed in the FDA's Orange Book for Sanofi's Lantus and Lantus SoloStar.
