Carrefour: Barcap maintains 'weight in line' rating.

(CercleFinance.com) - Barclays Capital (BarCap) maintains its "weight in line" rating on Carrefour, along with its target price of 23.
5 euros, after the announcement of Alexandre Bompard's appointment at the helm of the food retail giant.

Although BarCap recognises the hopes that this appointment of Alexandre Bompard may create, considering his successful leadership of la Fnac, the broker questions his ability to stave the decline of the hypermarket format and improve the generation of free cash-flow.

"We also question whether he will proceed with the Carrefour Brazil IPO this year given the limited visibility on the Brazilian economy and FX moves," the broker adds.
