Osram: shares pause for breath after yesterday's jump

(CercleFinance.com) - Shares of Osram are only up slightly (+0.
2%) on Thursday after soaring over 14% yesterday, after the German lighting group confirmed market rumours that the private equity firms Bain Capital and Carlyle are considering a joint acquisition of the company.

In a brief statement, Osram said it is currently engaged in "detailed discussions" with Bain and Carlyle, although said that it is not yet clear whether there will be an investment. It is also possible that the discussions fail, Osram said.

This morning, Osram said it took a minority stake in Beaconinside, a Berlin-based company that develops Internet of Things (IoT) industry solutions for the retail, smart city and logistics sectors.
