Bayer: acquires the start-up Targenomix

(CercleFinance.com) - Bayer has announced the acquisition of German biotech start-up Targenomix, which uses new systems biology and computational life science tools to identify new modes of action for crop protection compounds.


A spin-off of the Max Planck Institute for Plant Molecular Physiology (MPI MPP), Targenomix will operate independently and continue to conduct crop protection research with a start-up mindset and agile culture.

By further integrating Targenomix's systems biology approach into its R&D pipeline, Bayer says that it is driving the development of innovative new technologies towards safe and effective products that farmers need.
