BASF: builds methyl glycols plant in China

(CercleFinance.com) - BASF announces that it has started to build a methyl glycols (MG) plant at its Verbund site in Zhanjiang, China.

The new facility is designed for an annual capacity of 46,000 metric tonnes and aims to meet the rapidly growing demand for brake fluids in the region.

The plant is scheduled to come on stream by the end of 2025.

The new facility will be the only fully upstream integrated steam cracker methyl glycols plant in China, serving the fast-growing brake fluid market, BASF said.

Using BASF's unique process technology, the plant will provide reliable, competitive and high-quality products to meet the needs of our downstream businesses and customers, it added.
