Daimler: Mercedes-Benz car sales rise 10.1% in April.
(CercleFinance.com) - Daimler's Mercedes-Benz premium brand posted another sales record in April, growing volume by 10.
1% to 180,599 cars, the car maker said on Friday.
In a statement, Mercedes-Benz said sales were driven primarily by China, where volume soared 35.3% last month, and benefited from demand for its new E-Class Saloon and Estate sedans.
In Europe, Mercedes-Benz sales increased by just 3.9% last month.
"We achieved our 50th consecutive record month for unit sales and once again a double-digit growth," said Britta Seeger, head of marketing and sales at Mercedes-Benz Cars.
Sales have increased even faster since the start of the year, with 14.5% more vehicles sold since 1 January, with a total of 741,224 units.
