Continental: second-quarter in line; 2018 guidance confirmed

(CercleFinance.com) - German auto parts maker Continental posted second-quarter results that are broadly in line with expectations, confirming its full-year guidance.


Continental's second-quarter adjusted EBIT fell to 1.12 billion euros, from 1.13 billion euros one year earlier, on sales that are up at around 11.3 billion euros, from 11 billion euros.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2018, Conti pointed out that the third quarter is traditionally impacted by seasonal effects, with plants usually shutting down for holidays in the summer.

However, the group said that it was expecting a strong quarter at the end of the year, and therefore confirmed its full-year outlook.

Investors did not welcome this publication, with Continental shares falling 3.5% in Frankfurt this morning.
