Barry Callebaut: acquisition in Australia

(CercleFinance.com) - Barry Callebaut announces an agreement to acquire GKC Foods (Australia), a chocolate group supplying brands present in Australia and New Zealand.
The financial terms of the deal were not specified.

The Swiss group points out that this acquisition gives it a direct presence and production capacity in the Australian and New Zealand markets, where the average per capita consumption of chocolate is the highest in the Asia-Pacific region, according to Euromonitor.

Barry Callebaut's investment includes an upgrade and expansion of the existing infrastructure at the Melbourne site, with the installation of a new state-of-the-art production line.
