Barry Callebaut: half ingredients from sustainable sources

(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss chocolate and cocoa product maker Barry Callebaut said on Wednesday that it now obtains over 50% of its ingredients from sustainable sources.


In fiscal year 2018/19 the company sourced 47% of its cocoa and 54% of other ingredients it uses sustainably, it said in a statement.

Barry Callebaut said that it is "well on track" to have 100% sustainable chocolate by 2025.

To reach this objective, the group is now mapping its supply chain, tracking full data from its 176,984 farms into its database.
