Nike: Q3 net profit down almost a third
(CercleFinance.com) - Nike has reported a 32% drop in net income to $0.
8bn for Q3 2024-25, with EPS of $0.54 (-30%), with its gross margin contracting 330bp
to 41.5%.
The latter was mainly penalised by higher discounts and inventory obsolescence reserves, as well as higher product costs and changes in the distribution channel mix.
The sporting goods supplier's sales contracted by 9% to $11.3bn (-7% excluding currency effects), due to declines in all geographic zones for its eponymous brand.
Management says that its outlook for H2, driven by its 'Win Now' actions, is in line with what we communicated last quarter, highlighting a dynamic operating environment.
