Alphabet: Jefferies still a buyer after Wiz deal
(CercleFinance.com) - Alphabet has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire cloud security platform Wiz for $32bn.
Following this announcement, Jefferies confirms its Buy recommendation on the stock, with an unchanged target price of $235 (cp: $166, +2.2%).
Wiz will help secure the future of Google Cloud and enhance Google Cloud's cloud security offerings, Jefferies says.
WIZ is Google's largest-ever transaction, with a cash price of $32bn (using a third of its $96bn gross cash position), the broker adds.
Jeffereies points out that the planned closing in 2026 incorporates a lengthy regulatory review given the fragmented landscape of the security software market.
