Alphabet: Jefferies welcomes Wiz acquisition
(CercleFinance.com) - Jefferies confirms its 'buy' recommendation on Alphabet shares, along with its $235 target price, the day after the tech giant announced the acquisition of Wiz to enhance the cloud security offerings of Google Cloud.
Wiz is Alphabet's largest-ever transaction, at $32bn - in cash, the broker says, believing that the deal will benefit Google Cloud through the synergy created with its infrastructure and AI expertise.
The deal's completion, which is expected in 2026, implies a lengthy regulatory review, which we expect to be positive given the fragmented security software landscape, Jefferies says, which also points to an attractive valuation for Alphabet shares after their 16% fall YTD.
