Thales: a sonar suite for Dutch submarines

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announces that it will equip the Royal Netherlands Navy's future Orka-class submarines with a complete high-performance sonar suite, replacing its Walrus-class submarines currently in service.


According to the French group, this suite will guarantee 'an unrivalled panoramic view of the submarine environment, enabling the detection, location and classification of all threats at short, medium and long range, over a wide range of frequencies'.

This sonar suite will enable future Dutch submarines to ensure perfect control of the acoustic situation in the face of increasingly silent threats", adds Thales, which already equips more than 50 submarines of various types (nuclear or conventional).
