Thales: delivery of a mine clearance system to the Royal Navy

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced the delivery of the first autonomous maritime demining system to the Royal Navy, under the aegis of the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAr) and as part of the Franco-British MMCM project.


Based on cyber-secured autonomous UAVs equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI), this system drastically reduces the exposure of shipboard personnel to risk, and contributes to the safety of maritime routes.

The Royal Navy will receive its first four systems later this year. Each system comprises a number of integrated equipment and sub-systems, enabling it to carry out highly complex missions.
