Merck: opens vaccine plant in North Carolina
(CercleFinance.com) - Merck today announced the opening of a new $1bn, 225,000-square-foot (nearly 21,000 m2) vaccine manufacturing facility at its Durham, North Carolina site.
The expansion of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Durham marks an important milestone in our efforts to strengthen our production and manufacturing capabilities in the United States, said Sanat Chattopadhyay, executive vice president and president of Merck's manufacturing division. Since 2018, Merck has invested more than $12bn on expanding domestic manufacturing and R&D capabilities and creating new jobs in the US.
